Hike

Today was a busy day. We drove about 20 min away and went hiking through the mountains. The sun was warm today, so I wore a tank top and capris. The hike was amazing, we stopped every so often to sit and rest and soak in the incredible view of the city below. I could here a loud speaker with a man speaking Spanish that echoed throughout the valley, but I couldn't understand any of it. At the top of the mountain, there was a giant white cross that was built by the Jesuits. Close to the cross was an area with horses, but we didn't go close to see how many. We actually saw a dead horse on our way down the mountain, which was shocking at first.
After the hike, Mr. Fulfer stopped at an ice cream shop and I was able to try ice cream here for the first time. I got dulce de leche and vanilla and it's by far the best ice cream I've had. I don't miss the ice cream in the U.S. at all. This stuff is golden!
We got back to Cordoba just in time to watch the final soccer game in the World Cup. We ate empanadas and drank Coca Cola. Fernando (who is a student here in the house) has been helping me get around town and invited me to church. Church was great, but I could barely understand anything. I learned something today: there are no 'to-go' cups here. Anything you drink, you drink out of a mug. So no drive through coffee in the morning!
I'm headed to bed. Everyone still laughs because I want to go to sleep before 11pm. Argentina is awake all night, but I'm just not there yet!
