English Class

So this was an awesome day. Laura (my Spanish teacher) decided to switch things up and have class at a cafe inside one of the Universities here in Cordoba. We reviewed what I've learned for my upcoming test, while drinking coffee and juice. We tried to sit outside, but it was too windy. My papers would have flown everywhere.
She invited me to come to her next class, where she teaches English to six locals from Argentina. We walked a few blocks to an apartment building, and she sat me in the center of the room so they could ask me questions, and practice their English. It was so weird how backwards it felt! Usually, I'm the one who is struggling with Spanish, and isn't pronouncing words properly or can't figure out what to say. This time, it was Argentines doing that with English. It was refreshing to know the answers to every question and to help with pronunciation.
One of the women has invited the group to her house next Thursday after class for dinner! They want to practice their English and I want to practice my Spanish! I can't wait!
OH! I almost forgot... I got my first haircut in Argentina! (Don't worry, it was just a trim.) They woman was so sweet. She trimmed it up and it looks great for 25 pesos. I only had a 100 on me, so she said to just pay her tomorrow, or later in the evening.. I couldn't believe it! When you live in a small neighborhood, like the one I live in, people know everyone and they have incredibly trust. I fiddled in my pockets and found the exact change (THANK GOD) because I felt horrible leaving without paying her.
There were only 4 students tonight, but usually Laura teaches 6. I don't remember their names, but Laura is the girl sitting next to me with the scarf.

Drinking mate in the plaza

So a group of us brought some mate to the plaza, and hung out there for a few hours. This is a very normal activity, to take yerbe mate, sugar and a thermos of hot water to the park or plaza and drink with friends outside. We sat here. What a view huh?

One of the girls had this nifty container separating the yerba mate with the sugar. It makes it so much easier to pour it this way!
