Going to Buenos Aires tomorrow!
Here is what the bus ticket looks like!
I leave Thursday night at midnight- and I arrive in Retiro in the Buenos Aires Province at 9:20am Friday morning. Now that's a LONG bus ride.
So I've been here or Cordoba for almost 2 months. Of course, I want to travel as many places as I can, but the problem is I don't have anyone to come with me at a moment's notice. I would travel a lone, but that's pretty dangerous. So, I've decided to take my first trip to Buenos Aires province. I won't be going to the capital city, but I'll be close to it. Patricia will be meeting me at the bus terminal to pick me up, with another American (I think that's what she said at least.) I'll be staying with her at her home, and she is excited to show me around town. I only bought a one way ticket, so I can decide later if I want to come home to Cordoba on Sunday or Monday. I'm hoping to see a Tango Show, since it's a pretty build deal in B.A., and hear the famous Buenos Aires accent. I guess they pronounce the 'll' with a 'ssshh' sound. I can't wait to be in a new place!
Denise is going to come with me to the bus terminal tomorrow night, to make sure I get on the right one. My ticket says in the upper right corner that my terminal is between 15 and 30. That means that I have to keep my eyes on 15 different buses, and figure out which one is mine at the right time. David mentioned that they call for passengers to board extremely fast, and amongst all of the noise in the terminal. I am so thankful Denise is coming with me, because I don't think I'd understand something over loudspeaker, especially if there are 15 different buses for me to keep an eye on.
Since I'll only be there for the weekend, I'll be taking my backpack so it's easier to travel. I can't wait for this adventure! I'm not too excited about riding a bus for 10 hours, but at least it's at night, so I can sleep and wake up in another province!
