Chile

So here I sit, in Santiago. First of all, it's freezing. My brain seems to have lost connection with my hands, rendering me of typing speed. It's proves a chore to even write this... if you could see how slow I'm typing I'm positive you would try to hide a laugh. I would go guy gloves, but it seems silly once I glance at the price tag. I have officially moved out of the Colorado heat into an iceberg.
My flight from Miami to Santiago was a breeze. As soon as the plane took off, I left the world of English behind me.. so to speak. It's been years since I've heard this much Spanish, and I like it. I feel like a typical American tourist, if there was such an image. Think of it, and that's me. I've been getting a few odd looks here and there.. maybe because I'm not dressed like a queen like every other woman in this airport. That's one small detail I've noticed, everyone is dressed beautifully. Nobody is wearing anything remotely 'casual'. Isn't that a must when you travel all day? Traveling here is a fashion statement. No wonder everyone is staring at me.
I've been here in Chile since 6am, and it's about 10:30am now. I started searching for internet around 6:30, and didn't find it until now. A nice gentleman from Uruguay told me a restaurant gives you a password to the internet in an exchange for eating there. So here I am, con una limonada and chips con queso (I'm not even hungry) but I wanted communication with the world. The chips have a TON of salt on them, so I'm sticking to the lemonade for now. The waitress is singing along to the song 'True Colors' in English, and it's cracking me up.. "So DONT be afffraid! True CoooooooLLLORRRS, so don't be afraid!"

P.S. The mountain range is covered in snow and it's a beautiful thing.

And this is what I ate earlier.. don't really know what it is.. all I know is it was smothered with Mayo (with a side of mayo just in case...) I only got through half of it.
