A little bit of my Monday

Today I planned on going to the art museum downtown. I walked all the way there (30 min or so), bought batteries for the camera and had my heart set on finally seeing a museum here! When I got there, all the doors were locked and a security guard bluntly said, "All museums are closed on Mondays!" What? Museums are closed on Mondays.... what the? I swear, if there was any place in the world that lost money due to odd business hours, it would be Argentina.

After hearing the news, I was crushed. I walked around Cordoba with a pouty face holding onto Art Museum brochures. Hahahha.. ahh I was so bummed. I walked around for hours, stopping into little shops to browse. I noticed how much prices fluctuate depending on where you go. You can find the exact same clothes, kitchen items or toys for kids for 20 pesos or 28 pesos depending on where you go. You could literally walk across the street, and you've automatically saved some cash. You just need to know where to shop. Well, in reality.. you have to be careful shopping if you are a foreigner. If vendors smell a foreighner, the price goes way up.

Okay... people in Argentina LOVE their Tang. I remember buying large cans of Tang at Costco when I was younger but they sell Tang in individual packets here. There's an array of flavors from orange, to pear to apple. I have never drunken so much Tang in my life! Almost every day, we make a bottle of Tang for dinner!

Remember how I told you milk comes in bags here? Well, all condiments do. Mayonnaise, ketchup.. you name it... it all comes in bags. I can't stand it... do you know how hard it is to keep your bags of ketchup or mayo in the fridge? Once you use it once they won't stand up on their own, so you have tons of bags laying on their sides and it's pretty obnoxious hahahahahha.

This is at one of the butcher shops in town... it grosses me out but it's completely normal for everyone else :) Argentina does have the best meat in the world... and the cool thing is, it's not expensive here (for the quality anyway.) It's unbelievable amazing.
